About FastTrack

Speeding up the roll-out of sustainable mobility innovations

FastTrack helps cities accelerate the roll-out of sustainable mobility innovations through knowledge-exchange and capacity building.

We work with 24 urban and peri-urban areas to help them accelerate their deployment of sustainable mobility innovations. This work revolves around four topical clusters, each led by an Ambassador City. Throughout its learning programme – featuring a bottom-up needs assessment, e-learning opportunities, and Capacity Building Weeks – FastTrack brings its community of local areas together with experts and solution providers to overcome the barriers to innovation deployment.

What is innovative in one local area may be well-established in another. That is no problem for FastTrack! The project meets cities where they are, and supports them all to fast track their transition to truly sustainable transport through:

  • knowledge-sharing,
  • capacity-building events,
  • expert inputs, and
  • various research methods.

By the end of the project, each of the 24 FastTrack areas – including four Local Ambassadors, and 20 Local Affiliates – will have developed sustainable mobility "Innovation Deployment Plans" to ensure that those innovations they have identified and planned are implemented smoothly and quickly. Only through accelerated, urgent action will cities and towns be able to achieve the transformation needed to secure a sustainable future for all.

Local authorities are ready to be at the cutting-edge, implementing the most innovative sustainable mobility solutions. It's our job to help break down the barriers that are slowing them down.
